Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the YogSpace website and app (the "Platform") and to every class you book through it. Please read them carefully. By creating an account you confirm that you accept them.
1. Who we are
1.1 The Platform is operated by YOGSPACE LTD, trading as YogSpace ("YogSpace", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17485142, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.
1.2 You can contact us at hello@yogspace.com (general questions) or support@yogspace.com (bookings, payments and account help), or by post at our registered office.
1.3 We are not currently registered for VAT. If that changes, we will show our VAT number on receipts.
2. Who can use YogSpace
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or book a class. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the Platform, and a child must not take part in a class booked on an adult's account.
2.2 You must give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. Your account is personal to you: keep your password safe and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
2.3 Teachers ("Instructors") join under a separate Instructor Agreement, which applies in addition to these Terms.
3. What YogSpace does
3.1 YogSpace is an online marketplace. We check Instructors' yoga credentials, list them on the Platform, and provide the booking, payment, messaging and video tools that let you take live one-to-one classes ("Sessions") with them.
3.2 Instructors are independent professionals, not our employees. Each Instructor decides how to teach their Sessions and is responsible for the instruction they give. Each Instructor's profile shows who they are and the credentials we have checked.
3.3 When you book, you enter into a contract with the Instructor for the Session, and a contract with us for the use of the Platform and our booking service. We collect your payment on the Instructor's behalf, and paying us settles what you owe the Instructor for that Session. We remain responsible to you for everything these Terms say we will do, including handling cancellations, refunds and complaints.
3.4 YogSpace is in beta. Features may change, be paused or be removed while we improve the Platform. We will tell you in advance about any change that materially affects a Session you have already booked or credit you have already paid for.
4. Health and safety
4.1 YogSpace sessions are not medical treatment and don't replace professional medical advice. Instructors are yoga teachers, not doctors, physiotherapists or midwives, and nothing in a Session is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. This includes Sessions focused on back pain, pregnancy, injury recovery or relaxation. Our Medical Disclaimer forms part of these Terms.
4.2 Before you book, and before each Session, you agree to:
- talk to your doctor or another qualified healthcare professional first if you are pregnant, have recently given birth, have a medical condition, an injury, or have had recent surgery;
- answer the intake questions honestly and tell your Instructor about anything that could affect your safety;
- practise in a safe, clear space, and stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath or any other worrying symptom.
4.3 Therapeutic and prenatal classes. For Back Pain Relief, Prenatal Yoga and Yoga Therapy classes, you choose either to share health information with your Instructor, or not to share it:
- If you share it, you give your explicit consent and answer a few safety questions. If you answer "Yes" to any of them, we cannot take the booking and will ask you to speak to your GP or midwife first.
- If you prefer not to share it, you must confirm that you have checked with your doctor or midwife that the class is safe for you, and that you take responsibility for choosing not to share. Your Instructor will be told that you chose not to share, and will not know about any condition you have, so please mention anything that affects your safety at the start of the class.
You can withdraw your health consent at any time in your account settings. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle health information.
4.4 YogSpace is not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
5. Booking a Session
5.1 Prices are set by each Instructor and shown in US dollars. Your bank or card provider may charge you for currency conversion; we do not control those charges.
5.2 When you pay by card, a booking fee is added to the class price. The class price, the booking fee and the total are always shown on the payment page before you confirm. No booking fee is charged on Sessions paid with Wallet credit or a bundle.
5.3 Your booking is confirmed when you see the confirmation page and receive our confirmation email. We will email you the details you need to join, and you join through the Platform at the booked time.
5.4 You need a device with a camera, a microphone and a stable internet connection. We are not responsible for problems caused by your own equipment or connection.
6. Wallet credit and bundles
6.1 Wallet. You can add credit to your YogSpace Wallet and use it to book any Instructor. A booking fee may be charged once when you top up, instead of on each Session. Credit you add as a custom amount does not expire while your account is open. Discounted credit packs must be used within the period shown when you buy them (currently 180 days); we email you before a pack expires, and unused pack credit lapses at the end of that period. Wallet credit is not a bank account, does not earn interest, cannot be transferred to another person and can only be used on the Platform.
6.2 Bundles. A bundle is a pack of Sessions with one Instructor, paid in advance at a discount. A bundle can be used for 180 days from purchase; the expiry date is shown when you buy it and in your account. At any time before it expires, you can convert the unused Sessions in a bundle into Wallet credit to use with any Instructor. Unused Sessions that are not converted before the expiry date lapse.
6.3 Getting your money back. Refunds are paid into your Wallet by default so that you can rebook straight away. If you would rather have a refund to your original payment method, contact support@yogspace.com within 180 days of the refund and we will send it back to your original payment method within 14 days of your request. Unused Wallet credit that you topped up yourself can also be refunded to your original payment method if you close your account; contact us before you close it.
7. Cancellations and your legal rights
7.1 Our Refund & Cancellation Policy explains when you can cancel or reschedule a Session, and what happens if your Instructor cancels, reschedules or does not show up. It forms part of these Terms. The rules that apply to a Session are the ones shown when you book it.
7.2 Individual Sessions. Each Session is booked for a specific date and time. Under UK and EU consumer law, the general 14-day right to cancel online purchases does not apply to leisure services provided on a specific date. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy applies instead, and it lets you cancel for a full refund up to the cut-off shown at checkout.
7.3 Wallet top-ups and bundles. If you buy Wallet credit or a bundle, you have 14 days from the purchase to cancel it for any reason. We will refund the unused part to your original payment method within 14 days of hearing from you. If you have already used part of the credit or bundle on Sessions, the value of the Sessions you have taken is deducted. To cancel, email support@yogspace.com with your name and the purchase you want to cancel; you can use the wording "I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for [purchase], bought on [date]."
7.4 Your other rights. Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights as a consumer. Under UK law, a service must be provided with reasonable care and skill and as described. If a Session is not, you are entitled to have it repeated or, if that is not possible, to some or all of your money back. Citizens Advice (or your local consumer advice service) can tell you more.
8. How you must behave
8.1 You must treat Instructors, students and our team with respect. You must not:
- harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone, or behave in a sexual or otherwise inappropriate way;
- record, screenshot or share a Session, or anyone's image or voice, without the clear consent of everyone in it;
- share anything illegal, harmful, misleading or that infringes someone else's rights;
- arrange or pay for Sessions with an Instructor you met on YogSpace outside the Platform;
- create more than one account, impersonate anyone, or give false information;
- interfere with the Platform's security or operation, or scrape or copy its content.
8.2 If you break these rules, we may remove content, suspend or close your account, and cancel your upcoming Sessions. If we close your account because you broke these Terms, we will refund any Wallet credit you paid for, less any amount you owe us.
9. Messages and safety checks
9.1 You can message your Instructor through the Platform. To protect students and Instructors and to keep payments on the Platform, messages are automatically checked for contact details, links and requests to pay off the Platform. A message may be blocked or flagged, and flagged messages may be read by our trust and safety team.
9.2 Sessions are not recorded by YogSpace.
10. Reviews
10.1 Only a student who has completed a paid Session with an Instructor can review that Instructor, once per Session. Reviews must be your honest opinion of a real experience.
10.2 You must not post a review in exchange for payment, a discount or any other benefit, or on behalf of someone else. Instructors must not review themselves, ask for or offer anything for positive reviews, or pressure students about reviews.
10.3 We do not edit reviews to change their meaning and we do not hide reviews because they are negative. We may remove a review that breaks these rules, is unlawful, abusive or discloses someone's personal or health information. You can report a review you think is fake or unfair using the contact details in section 1.
11. Reporting a problem or making a complaint
11.1 You can report illegal content, abuse, a safety concern or a breach of these Terms by emailing support@yogspace.com or by using the reporting tools in the Platform. We will review every report, act on it where appropriate and tell you what we decided.
11.2 If you are unhappy with our service, email support@yogspace.com. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and to reply in full within 14 days.
11.3 Disputes about a specific Session (for example its quality or an Instructor's conduct) go through the in-app dispute process described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
12. Our content and your content
12.1 The Platform, our brand and our content belong to us or our licensors. You may use them only to use the Platform for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
12.2 You keep ownership of what you post (for example reviews and messages). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and use it to run and promote the Platform. You confirm that you have the right to post it.
13. Our responsibility to you
13.1 If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our negligence. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
13.2 We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (or that of our employees or agents), for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your legal rights as a consumer.
13.3 Each Instructor is responsible for the instruction they give. We are responsible for checking Instructors' credentials with reasonable care and for running the Platform, but we do not supervise Sessions and we are not responsible for an Instructor's own acts or omissions, except where we were negligent or the law makes us responsible.
13.4 We only provide the Platform for domestic and private use. If you use it for a business purpose, we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
14. Suspending or closing your account
14.1 You can close your account at any time in your account settings. Upcoming Sessions are cancelled when you do; see section 6.3 about any Wallet credit.
14.2 We may suspend or close your account if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, to protect someone's safety, or if the law requires it. Unless there is an urgent safety, legal or fraud reason, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to respond.
15. Changes to these Terms
15.1 We may update these Terms, for example to reflect changes to the Platform, our prices or the law. We will tell you about important changes by email or in the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect, unless the change is required sooner by law or for safety reasons.
15.2 We may ask you to accept the updated Terms before your next booking. If you do not agree to them, you can close your account, and we will refund any unused Wallet credit you paid for.
16. Law and disputes
16.1 These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute.
16.2 If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you live in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.
16.3 If a court finds part of these Terms invalid, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
